Aang

A drawing of Aang from the movie The Last Airbender. This is my first full drawing on Paint Tool SAI, with a Wacom Bamboo Tablet and Pen. I had the reference image on my phone and the painting on my computer...so kinda side-by-side ish. Wasn't really happy with the result, but ah well. Majorly used the paint, airbrush, and blend tools. Four layers: basic shape, in detail sketch, color, and my signature.

I know the general audience didn't really like the movie, but when I first saw it, I was captivated by the concept of the bending arts, though my friend who sat next to me complained that "Iroh is supposed to be a fat guy who drinks tea" and Appa "looked demented". So I decided to watch the original show, and got hooked instantly. But I always go back to this scene in the movie, and it always gives me chills. Especially the music piece, Flow Like Water [link]
